Voluntary Medicare Society is a combination of different departments which work independently to provide different kinds of support to challenged individuals based on their needs.
SAWAB CENTER FOR MENTAL HEALTH
A mental health unit was also established for people with various psycho-social issues. A team of psychiatrists and psychologists visit the center once a week to assess and treat the children and adults for various mental health issues. This unit also arranges for outreach camps to help to identify and provide support to the people in need.
VISUALLY IMPAIRED REHABILITATION UNIT
It is run by trained visually impaired staff. The department provides mobility, ADLs, braille, computer training, caregiver training, early learning kits and ophthalmology consultations.
VMS BASKETBALL TEAM
Sports Club in VMS was established in 2015. Dozens of physically challenged individuals have not only participated in para-olympics but also have successfully competed outside our state of Jammu & Kashmir as well. Our wheelchair basketball team has produced players who have went on and got selected for national team.
